Kia’s First Ever Pick-Up, The Tasman

Kia has entered the midsize pickup market with the all-new Kia Tasman, designed to compete with models like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. The Tasman features two engine options: a turbocharged 2.5-liter gasoline engine producing up to 277 hp and 422 Nm of torque, and a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 207 hp and 441 Nm.

The pickup boasts a towing capacity of approximately 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs), making it suitable for heavy hauling and towing recreational vehicles. Its robust design includes a bold front grille, angular LED headlights, skid plates, and all-terrain tires, catering to both urban and off-road environments.

Inside, the Tasman is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with multiple USB ports and a wireless charging pad. Higher trim levels offer premium features like leather seating and dual-zone climate control.

Safety is a priority, with a suite of advanced features including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. The selectable drive modes enhance performance across varying terrains, supported by an all-wheel-drive system with electronic terrain management.

Kia aims to position the Tasman as an affordable alternative to its competitors, with initial availability planned for the Middle East, Australia, Africa, and Central America.
